I finally got the boat out for the first time this year.  The boys had a really great time!  We found a neat little cove on the north side of the lake where the water is less than 3 feet deep and the bottom is all sand (with the exception of the occasional freshwater clam).  It is a spot on the lake will will be visiting again really soon!
