Punta Cana is not known for it's scuba diving, but there is a lot of really great things to see down there. I had a great dive master, Marcelo, a recent ex-pat from Brazil. He really knew his stuff. One of my dive buddies was Nicholas from France. He was completing he open water certification, and I shot some great pictures of him taking his certification dive tests.
